I've recently become very attached to the incomparable art of Vargas.Though I've seen it for years, it wasnt until recently that I really began to research his style and more obscure works. This, for instance, was one of the legacy nudes of his career and truly showcases how brilliant an artist he was! I don't think anyone else has been able to capture the female form w/ such exquisite (and forgiving) detail before or since. His ideal ladies were not too thin but very human and altogether gorgeous!
Bettie Page and others of her generation of pin-up model used Vargas girls' to set the standard and small wonder. Thanks to Sabina and Heidi Van Horne (whose respective sights are super stingy w/ photos or I would have posted some eye candy for the boys) for keeping the image alive!
