Coo Coo for CaCa!

So, I guess I've lucked out w/ my two year old. He has miraculously potty trained himself, it seems! I have been keeping him 'diaper-less' for a couple of months now when we're home during the day and frustratingly cleaning up little resultant messes here and there for the duration. He just didnt seem to 'get it', only going to the potty after the fact. Last week, he started hitting a little closer to the mark (pun intended) and actually did his business in the can a few times.

Well, last weekend in Memphis-town he proved himself the smartest boy alive and did not have one 'accident'! And on the way home , even when we were stuck for an hour and forty-five minutes on the interstate, he never slipped up even though he had on a pullup and it was completely expected. Since then, I'm forever hearing him trot to the potty throughout the day and haven't seen any mishaps yet...So yay!

His brother was potty trained by 2 1/2 himself but I didnt have such high hopes for littlun since he started a lot later (Johnson started using the potty at one year). But, my worries were unfounded I suppose. So again, Yay! That's a good 40.00 a month saved , for sure!

Congratulations!! I am so happy for him and his great accomplishment. And happy for you too.

I am wondering if Colton is ever going to get it. He was doing really well. We had a sticker chart and he got a skittle every time he went we even got him big boy underwear which he was so proud of. Then all of a sudden he was no longer interested. He never seemed to get going pee in the potty it was always poop. Fine with me. But not anymore. Now he goes behind the chair and we know exactly what he is doing. I will try the bottomless thing. Changing diapers on two kids is not the greatest.

Yeah, sometimes the bottomless thing works pretty well. It was 'off and on' w/ Nathan. Sometimes he didnt careif he was naked or not-he'd just let it rip! And other times he seemed really hesitant and would run into the bathroom and at least TRY to make it. Cleaning it off the bathroom floor was way better than dealing w/ carpet or sofa though...yuck!

Uhhh....no offense but this post makes me happy I don't have children at the present time.
My dog left a nasty pile o' barf on the floor for me when I got in from work and I bribed Brooke into cleaning it up for me.
I don't really handle poop well.
(Can you tell I'm a single girl, not ready for children of me own?)
Plus, I am ridiculously lazy and inpatient. No follow through what so ever. Thankfully my dog was "housetrained" in one day cause otherwise she'd have been an outside dog, I'm pretty sure. ANd the pile of barf had me thinkin about doing that anyway. :)

As someone that just dropped nearly $80 on diapers for two kids, I long for this day.

Poor Tina! It's amazing the conversations you have to endure when around parents. I never thought I'd say or do half the stuff I do with my girls.

This is true Turborip, who knew we would all get so excited over poop.

Congratulamations to you & small-fry!! I know the sort of motherly glee when a child gets the hang of such a thing! I also know that all children are different in this regard.
