Today will be the day of days
When Paula Deen receives the praise
She so deserves for lending me
the recipes that let me be
much loved by all who taste the likes
of krispy kreme bread pudding, yikes!
'Not yo mama's' banana pudding,
shrimp pie, grouper club, and apple dumpling
And chocolate gooey cakes, unholy bliss
my guests eat you and I get a kiss!
O Paula with thy snowy hair
That rosy cheek and smile so fair
It took your show to make us see
that lard is not the enemy!
To heck with scales and bathroom clutter
give me that unsalted butter!
So let's all chant with heartfelt purrs
'Best Dishes!' Paula,
From our bellies to yers.

LOVE IT!!!
I am a Paula Dean fan too. How could a Southern Girl not love her and her wonderful recipes? I hope you send a copy of this to her or to Food Network. I think she would love it and probably read it on her show.
Cute!
I've made her pumpkin gooey butter cakes- YUM! And, how can I forget-her cornbread stuffing- MMM!
She's coming to the mid-south fair this year! September 28 and 29.
Tickets are only 40 bucks (eek!)
How could I not know someone who makes those kinds of foods!? (btw this is Sarah, not Craig posting). The ladies at Weight Watchers would turn inside out, but MAN! All those super-fattening foods sound absolutely divine! I'm going to have to check out Paula Dean....food network huh?

Sarah,
You MUST see Paula Dean. She is a phenomenal presence and after watching her for five minutes, you'll swear you know her personally. And her recipes are all fantastic...you have to try the 'not yo mamma's nanner pudding'. It's the stuff of dreams.
what-what? a poet?
