So here is Archie. He is the 2006 'World's Ugliest Dog'. I suppose the protruding tongue, frizzled facial hair and hairless body are decidedly unpretty for a dog. But when you look back at last year's champion, Sam, little Archie looks like a perfect specimen.See?
Poor Sam died last year or he'd surely still be the champ.

Those dogs are truly disgusting. Poor things. I would definatly run if I saw one coming toward me. Well, maybe I shouldn't run, maybe calmly walk away. But they are probably the sweetest dogs ever.
Yeah, the lady that owned Sam said he was a wonderful pet. Of course he was blind and obviously had temperament issues (see photos) but there must've been something to love...
His website is still going strong. You can still order "Sam" memorabilia...hahaha.

You know, the temperment issues are understandable. I can't say I'd be too sweet mannered if I won ugliest woman every year. Especially if I was blind! I'd be like
"I'll never know! I feel pretty."
Course, maybe being blind was a blessing........
Sam there looks like he died about 5 years ago, and they just kept propping his body up for head shots. Yikes!
Those poor hideous beasts! YIKES! But I'm sure, very lovable..... Eek.
