Yadda Yadda

I noticed that alot of my pregnant friends have 'pregnancy blogs' going and such. It's all very nice, I'm sure, but unfortunately, I don't have the energy or desire to start such a thing. Therefore, I'll keep all you interested folks apprised of my 'condition' occasionally on this page here.
Here I am at 13 weeks. As you can see, I still have a couple of stretch marks left over from my last pregnancy. (I'm hoping that nature does me good, and I get them in exactly the same places this time...heh heh.) Anyway, I'm fortunate in my tilted uterus because it has prevented me thus far from having to wear maternity clothes. However, these pants are hiphuggers and they were really tight at the time of this picture yesterday so it looks like I'll be using my bella band as early as this week. Thankfully, maternity clothes have gotten way cute so that's all well and good.
On a slightly less superficial note, baby is doing fine too! I went to the doctor last monday and after much finagling of the doppler thingie, they finally got his little heartbeat (yeah, I'm still not optimistic about my much desired girl). I had an eight week ultrasound (due to not being able to get the heartbeat at that ungodly early time) and everything looked good there too. From what I understand, little one is about the size of a plum right now...or a lime. Awwww.
Pregnancy symptoms are a b*%#h, I must say. My nausea is strangely unpredictable and very annoying. No major heartburn yet (due to the tilted uterus) but I've been pretty sick otherwise. In the morning, I dry heave before breakfast but am pretty fine until evening. Then, it depends entirely on the grace o' god whether I keep my dinner down. It really is hit or miss in that department. It doesnt seem to matter what I eat so I just enjoy myself and cross my fingers. Saturday morning on the way to the One Day Assembly, we had to literally stop on the side of the highway for ten minutes while I ralphed my guts out (pretty terminology I know but oh so fitting) even though I had eaten breakfast and everything. Wierd stuff of which I am very tired. Sigh.
Names: We have not even thought about girl-names this time around. Not exactly sure why. With both my boys, I had girl names picked out almost at the time of conception and the boy names were duly set as well. Johnson Edgar was going to be Josiana Eirinn (Josiana is a french name from Victor Hugo's The Man Who Laughs that I've always loved) and she was going to be called Josie. With my 2nd pregnancy, I had kind of set my heart on Michal Kate had she not turned out to be a Nathan Edward (which indeed she did). Neither of those names really appeal to me now (for different reasons) and so I'm just not thinking about it. However, if we have a boy again, both of us really love Victor Lucian. I also lake Edmund and James as middle names but Victor Westmoreland it certainly is. I'm also crazy inlove w/ his initials being 'VW' for obvious reasons. ;)
Yeah, that was sufficiently long winded.

Aww, what a beautiful belly, Ash! You are *so* going to have a girl this time, though! This isn't a sure way to tell, but check this study out!

(((Hugs))) to you and I hope the morning, afternoon, and evening sickness goes away soon!

Oooooo Kim, you're making me crazy with hopefulness...sigh. After just having lost my breakfast, I'm starting to really grasp at 'positivity' straws. Ha.

Awwwwww! What a sweet little peanut in there! Be a girl! Be a girl! :) But I do have to say, that if it's a boy, which of course it's not.....but if it was..... I love the name Victor Westmoreland. He would most certainly grow up to be an author. :)
Hope you stop ralphing soon! :( jeesh! Not fun!

Interesting name choices, bev. I like Avery alot and we actually considered it but Jonathan isnt too keen on it. We both like 'english' names because of our last name. I was all excited about 'Mary-Kate' the other day until I remembered 'Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson'. Grrrrr.

May you get a girl this time!

I was fortunate that I got what I wanted both times (girls) but we took the time to decide on names for both boys and girls. For the life of me, I couldn't tell you the names we came up with for the boys anymore!

It took us a while to agree on a name the first time before agreeing on Ava. We both loved the old school Hollywood touch. We almost went with Nichole. That became the middle name.

The next one, I somehow conned my wife to go with a name from my favorite series, Firefly, and thus Kaylee came to be. Inara was just not going to work with my last name! My better half was leaning towards Abigail for either the first or middle name, but then she stole Brooke for the middle name and everything clicked.

And with that, I'm done having children. Especially as I don't want to come up with any more names!

Ashley -

I hope you stop the puking soon. That is terrible.

I love the name Victor. Even thought I hope you don't get to use it and have to scramble for girl names. :)

But you do have such attractive boys. :)

Either way it will be beautiful.

Feel better soon.

Thanks all.

I am absolutely grateful to have my boys and did get what I wanted both times w/ them (with Nathan, I didnt really have a pref). But now I am ready SO ready for a girl. We'll see I guess.

If I am due for another boy, I expect everyone to compensate by buying me lots of stuff from this site...http://www.knuckleheadsclothing.com/

Hang the expense! (just kidding...sort of ;) )

What a cute bump! Hopefully your morning sickness won't last too much longer.

I bet you have a girl this time. With Ava, I was so sure that I was having a boy. I found a sale at Gymboree and bought Tons of baby boy clothes before my ultrasound. I kept the receipt just in case. The cashier was not too happy when I brought back several bags of boy clothes to exchange for girl clothes. I still kept the receipts because I was not convinced she was a girl until she was born. I wanted a girl so bad. I was so sick at my stomach from nervousness before my ultrasound and kept reassuring myself that another boy would be great. Heath told the tech when we went in that I was nervous because I wanted the baby to be a girl. I cried when she told me that it was a girl. Deep down I thought it was too good to be true and she must have made a mistake. I spent a lot of time comparing the "turtle" picture with the "hamburger" picture. And could not see much difference. I had a lot of ultrasounds because she was measuring small and every time, I asked if it was still a girl.

I do love the name Victor, too bad you probably won't be able to use it. We didn't start thinking of names until we found out what we were having both times. Colton was going to be either Henry, Corbin, or August. I can't remember the girl names I had in mind. For Ava, I also liked Jillian. She just felt like an Ava though.

Henry and August are both beautiful regal sounding names. I love Henry...isnt it funny that Kings and Princes named Henry were nick-named 'Harry' in the past? I always thought that was funny since it's not really a shortened versionof the name or anything. But I like Henry, George, Harry, James...all those Tudor names.

The only thing I'm sure about is I don't want to pick a name that is in the top 20 names in the U.S. right now...I want something traditional but not currently popular.

If it's a boy, name him Alistair Livingston Westmoreland, but call him "Poopsy".
