HUP two, three, four...

ON CATHE FRIEDRICH'S BOOT CAMP:

So I'm back in the saddle again w/ my exercise routine and today I did this workout again for the first time since I've had the baby. DEAR LORD! I'd forgotten how much it kills! So much so that I felt I should devote a whole entry to it and recommend it to all my friends...ha ha.

I first discovered Cathe Friedrich on FitTv a few years ago and would use her workouts (they air on FitTv every day) to supplement my days at the gym. However, when I moved out to the boonies, I had no gym nearby so I've been doing video workouts only for the past two years. I alternate All Star Workouts on FitTv, Cathe Friedrich's show, and various Pilates dvd's that I have at my disposal. Cathe's are by far the hardest workouts I've ever done and there are so many of them (even more if you go by her dvd catalogue) that I never get bored.

The Boot Camp workout is worth buying on dvd if you are so inclined or if not, you can always catch it on FitTv since it airs quite often. It is an hour long workout (or 45 minutes if you do the tv version, to allow for commercials) that consists of 8cycles of intensive cardio and weight-training segments. The cycle-segments are each one minute in length and go in the following order: one minute cardio, one minute upper body, one minute lower body, and one minute abs. Since there is no 'downtime' between the segments, they will most assuredly wear you out and could possibly make you cry...heh heh.

Cathe is a tiny person w/ a hard, muscular body and she uses really heavy weights much of the time. However, since my goal is to look more like this:

and not like this:

I usually stick w/ my light weights.

Anyway, it's a great, challenging workout for those who are so inclined to get moving and see results.

I doubt that we will be able to come to Memphis then. Our quickbuild was this past weekend and it didn't get finished. We are probably going to be working on it the next few weekends to get it done. I would love to see you and your family.

"Do you still run?"

"Only when chased!"

Sums up my exercising aspirations.....

Is that Barbarella??????

heh heh...Yeah, that's Barbarella Psychadella herself. Actually, Jane Fonda had the most amazing body I've ever seen, when she was in her sixties 'hey day'. I have pictures of her in her Barbarella attire on my closet walls as 'motivation'. Ha.

You so crazy!

I only do work out videos as well. I used to run but now there is no sidewalk around so it seems inpractical.

I will have to check that dvd out.

Ugh...speaking of I have a date with Claudia Schiffer and her perfectly fit buns, well now.

I'm jealous of people who can run or dance, especially dance. Dancers have great bodies. But alas, I'm cursed w/ weak ankles. I've been told I should 'strenghthen' them. Not sure how that works...ha.
