Oh Ashley, I am so sorry. Your family will be in my prayers.

Thanks Heddo. We were expecting it for some time since she was so old and feeble...but since she wasnt sick, it was still a big surprise when it happened so quickly. She had a virus yesterday and her heart failed last night. She was not coherent however, which is probably a good thing.

I'm comforted by how faithful she was even when her mind was going and the knowledge that I'll see her again.

I will always remember her fondly. She was so sweet and was smiling everytime I saw her. She always remembered me up until the last few times I saw her. I'll never forget the trip to Carthage to see them with your family. She and Nick were both so nice.

The resurrection hope is so wonderful. It is still hard though. Death truly is an enemy.

Ashley,
I was so sad to hear this news today. It's hard to imagine your family without Holleen around. The last time Shane was in Memphis he was talking about how much energy she had. We can only imagine how much we will see in her in the new system.
Love,
Debbie and Shane

I was so sad to hear about this. She was one sweet woman. I was telling Toby that I will have to show yall what she wrote in my autograph book a few years ago..... I'll post it when I get home later. I have some really fond memories of her. These are a couple of my favorites.....

Just about every time she saw me(before she got really bad) she would ask me if I have a husband/boyfriend yet, and would then tell me about various men in the hall that were single. Sometimes they would hear, and sometimes not, but it always made me blush and crack up.

It seemed like there was always some older guy hitting on her cuz she was always soooo cute and classy. I hated seeing her get so bad. It's nice to know that the next time we see her, she will be her beautiful self we know and love....even younger and more fabulous.(Is that possible??)

I remember taking art lessons from Nick and she was always there to greet us at the door. She'd always make sure we had something to drink. In the class, I was painting this lady and a cow in front of a barn and he died before I finished it. Well, mom was always asking me when I was gonna finish it, and I always said I wasn't going to until I saw him in the New Order and he helped me with it. Well, this one day, mom told Helen that, and she would tell me all the time how special that was to her.

She surely was a dear, sweet, faithful woman. I look forward to seeing her and Nick again, healthy and vibrant as spring chickens. :) Our prayers are with you guys.

Your comments made me misty...thanks Moose. And will we see you at the memorial service this weekend? I hope so. We're having family over to Toby's casa aftewards...you and Tina are welcome to come.

I had no idea you took art lessons from my grandfather. That is so cool. He would not teach me. He told me I was too stubborn. Ha.

Condolences, my friend. *hug* Death is so unnatural, as is the aging process - she was so beautiful. It will be wonderful to see her like that again, hey? She looked a lot like my grandmother when she was younger.
